Scribe.ai is an AI tool that documents your processes, builds how-to guides, SOPs and training manuals and saves hours of work every week. Co-founder Rob Cossins discussed his experiences of securing investment via the Connectd platform.

Rob Cossins

What was the main reason for you joining Connectd?

I first met the Connectd team on LunchClub and loved the idea. As a founder, it’s tough to work out which platforms are legitimate and which will provide real value to a startup. Our objective was to meet relevant angel investors which may have been missed elsewhere and have these investors add value too.

Due to the vetting process, Roei has implemented at Connectd, this level of quality is maintained. The platform also means investors have to be open about their background and experience, which is really refreshing. After speaking with the team, they filled me with confidence in their abilities and eventually led me to investigating the value proposition in more detail and eventually signing up.

How has your experience been so far?

After I signed up, I had a business profile review with a member of the team, and then began messaging a lot of individuals who are rated as ‘perfect’, ‘strong’ and ‘good’. I was pretty persistent but I received an amazing response rate.

The team have always provided me with good support and guidance on how to reach out to potential partners and this helped me to find investment through the platform. In this process, I met a number of high-profile individuals who have become informal advisors and investors into our company (Scribe). We have continued to make great connections, particularly through Connectd hosted events.

Because of my experience, I will be staying on the platform to locate relevant people for relevant stages in the business. It’s worth adding that you get out what you put into it, so I’d advise founders to be active on the platform.

What are your future growth plans?

As Scribe grows, it’s exciting to deploy research-based AI commercially, solving some of the biggest problems in finance. We’re building out our team and it’s exciting to learn from other founders who have been here before.

We’ve connected with 2–3 former founders who we found on the Connectd platform and they have been incredibly helpful in terms of introductions to clients and day-to-day advice when it comes to growing as a startup.
