"One of the key things that stood out for me was Connectd’s guaranteed placement. I’ve never seen another platform promise and deliver on that. That first match with a founder felt like the beginning of a real partnership."
1. Can you tell us about your professional background and the key skillsets you bring to your portfolio career?
I’ve worked across a mix of industries and markets, from gaming, e-commerce and fintech to loyalty and small business solutions. My background is in tech, originally from Israel, and I’ve lived and worked in Gibraltar, London, Berlin, Malta and now Ireland.
I’ve taken on a range of roles including user experience, digital marketing, product management and commercial strategy. I’ve worked with startups, scaleups and multinationals, and I try to bring all of that experience into my portfolio work, always with the goal of making life easier for the people I’m working with.
2. What motivated you to join the Transition to Portfolio programme?
I’d already made the initial jump from being a full-time employee to working as a consultant, mentor and board advisor. But I was ready for the next step: to take on more strategic roles, work with stronger companies and add more value at board level.
I knew that finding the right opportunities was the hard part. That’s what Connectd is set up to solve, matching great startups with the right advisors. For me, it’s all about fit. There’s no best or worst, just the right match for your skillset and experience. That’s why I joined the programme.
3. Which aspects of the programme helped you the most to prepare for future portfolio opportunities?
A few things really stood out. Meeting other advisors, some with more experience and some just starting out, helped me learn a lot and also reflect on my own journey. Hearing their honest stories and advice was incredibly valuable.
The Academy content and certificate were also helpful. Even though I’m not usually big on certificates, it was a good way to make sure I was aligned with how things are done in the modern boardroom and gave me a bit of added confidence.
Speaking to founders, getting feedback, reaching out on the platform, all of that built up my confidence and gave me more clarity on where I can add the most value. Ultimately, it’s a mix of theory, practice and community that helped me get there.
4. Can you share a key moment or lesson that shaped your approach to fractional work?
One of the biggest reasons I joined the programme was the guaranteed placement. That’s something I hadn’t seen offered elsewhere and it really stood out to me.
When I got placed and eventually met the founder in person, I felt that real connection. It wasn’t just an assignment, it felt like the start of a genuine partnership. That moment made me realise the value of fit and how one great connection can unlock so much potential.
5. Do you feel more confident and prepared to take on fractional roles after participating with Connectd?
Definitely. Confidence is everything in this space. The more time you spend engaging, whether it’s completing the Academy, talking to other advisors or speaking to founders, the more that confidence grows.
The programme helped build a solid foundation and now it’s about continuing to apply that in real conversations and opportunities. Every interaction adds to your readiness.
